Salty is back at the White Rock Theatre Studio with an electrifying line-up of exceptional queer performers.
Salty is THE place for LGBTQ+ folks and our allies to unite, let loose and immerse ourselves in some much-needed queer joy.
Get ready for an incredible line-up of radical queer performance! Experience the electrifying sound and movement of Rowdy SS, the raucous cabaret from the original ‘Bastard of Drag’, Ginny Lemon and the dynamic dance duo Pink Suits, who will push the boundaries of sexuality, fantasy, and politics. Plus, Thick & Tight featuring Azara Meghie in a stunning tribute to the inspiring essence of Grace Jones. With DJ Sarah Buller, spinning the tunes.

This Salty is part of our 25th anniversary celebrations. We are bringing back some of the amazing queer artists we’ve worked with over the years for a jam-packed birthday performance extravaganza — and there might even be cake!

There is wheelchair access into the venue via a ramp to the right of the entrance. From here there is lift access to White Rock Studio.
An accessible toilet is located on Level 2.
A gender neutral toilet is available and clearly marked.

Azara: Dance piece set to Grace Jones, featuring some lip-synching moments. Primarily visual with minimal mimed words.
Ginny Lemon: Live singing and improvised spoken moments with the audience. Primarily text-based.
Pink Suits: Dance duet. Visual with no spoken text.
Rowdy SS: Sound (experimental, heavy bass) and Movement, with a strong visual emphasis. There may be some brief spoken text recorded or live. Possible flashing imagery and lights. (Rowdy is currently devising this piece, we will update this information once confirmed).

Azara Meghie is a multidisciplinary artist sharing personal politics on sexuality, gender, racism, classism and homophobia through live art and film using poetry, breakdancing and theatre.
Ginny Lemon is a midlands-based singer-songwriter, improvisational comedienne, TV personality, character actor and spiritualist. Their work explores the intersections of their working-class identity, queerness, disability and taking the piss.
Pink Suits are a on Binary, Queer Feminist duo based in Margate, UK. Formed in 2017, pink suits make loud aggressive political punk noise as well as dance, physical theatre, film and art. pink suits work is an exploration of sexuality, fantasy, mental health, politics, activism and is a resistance of binary gender expectations, questioning how voices and bodies can be used as a form of protest.
Rowdy SS is a true multi-disciplinary artist – his works encompass performance art, music, installation. I just love what he does, his current work really resonates with me right now.....inhabit it and interact with it. Rowdy is very punk, very guerrilla and each performance is different.” Dazed
Thick & Tight is a dance theatre company based in the UK. The company creates a mix of dance, mime, theatre & drag, taking influence from a wide range of historical, political, literary & artistic subjects. Thick & Tight is co-directed by Daniel Hay-Gordon and Eleanor Perry.
DJ Sarah Buller is a Hastings based DJ and Artist who has played local venues across Hastings and St Leonards such as Hastings Pier, Printworks, The St. Leonard, Supernature and venues across Brighton and London. She's a lover of sharing music from the originating from diaspora from Soul, Reggaeton, RnB, Afrobeats, Dancehall, Disco and beyond!
