Join the Hastings Queer History Collective to uncover how personal objects reveal queer stories and connect to wider LGBTQIA+ histories
This community gathering sparks conversations about discovering and sharing LGBTQIA+ stories, contributing to the Collective's major exhibition at Hastings Museum and Art Gallery in 2026.
Expect short, intimate conversations with group members and local LGBTQIA+ individuals, each sharing the powerful stories behind objects that hold personal meaning.
There will also be an opportunity to get involved and help shape the upcoming exhibition with interactive activities like Mapping Queer Hastings, where you can mark significant places on a collective town map and Your Object, Your Story, where you can create a label and share the story behind something personal to you.
As always, there’ll be space for informal conversations and time to reflect over a signature queer history mocktail.
Come along and help shape how queer histories are remembered and valued in our town.
Open to LGBTQIA+ folks and allies —all welcome!
