Excited by the idea of supporting a bold, queer and community-led project at Hastings Museum & Art Gallery?

We’re looking for a skilled and organised Coordinator to help deliver an ambitious new exhibition and public programme created with the Hastings Queer History Collective.

Opening in April 2026, the exhibition will celebrate queer history, fashion and art through archival material, community stories and creative commissions. A lively wraparound programme of talks, workshops and events will bring together local voices and invite new audiences into the museum.

Queer History Collective

Formed in 2020, the Hastings Queer History Collective is a group of volunteers committed to collecting, preserving and sharing the queer history of Hastings and the surrounding area.

Through heritage research and public events, the group is working to increase the visibility of LGBTQIA+ stories within the museum and beyond, building a more inclusive and welcoming cultural landscape.

About the Role
The Project Coordinator will act as the logistical lead and main point of contact across the project, supporting strong communication and collaboration between the Collective, museum staff and partner organisations. This is a facilitative role, not a leadership position, focused on keeping things running smoothly and ensuring everyone involved is supported to do their best work.

If you’re an organised, proactive Coordinator who believes in the power of creativity to bring people together and spark change, we’d love to hear from you.
